Follow the
instructions below to setup a dialup account manually, alternatively use
the IncrediNet installation CD for an automatic setup.
Have the modem plugged in and switched on.
Look at Start ,
Programs , Accessories for
Dial-up Networking . If
Dial-up Networking exists, proceed to STEP
2.
Note that during the set-up a prompt to restart Windows may
appear. There is no need to restart until the end of the procedure,
although restarting when prompted will not cause any harm. Note also that
the Windows display should be set for at least 256 colours.
STEP 1
- Go to
Start ,
Settings , Control Panel ,
Add/Remove Programs , Windows Setup , Communications ,
Dial-up Networking and then OK until closed.

STEP 2
- Go to
Start ,
Programs , Accessories ,
Dial-up Networking . (If your modem has not yet been
installed, Windows will install it automatically at this point).
- Go to Make New Connection
- At Name of computer you are dialing type IncrediNet.
- Go to Configure , Options , check Bring up terminal
window AFTER dialing , click OK , Next .
- Type in the National dialup number 0860007249
(no area
code as it is a national number),
South Africa, go to Next , Finish .
STEP 3
- Go to
Start ,
Programs , Accessories ,
Dial-up Networking . Click the right-hand mouse button on
'IncrediNet'.
- Go to Properties , uncheck Use country code and area
code.
- Go to Server Type , choose PPP, Windows95, WindowsNT
3.5, Internet .
- Uncheck Log onto network .
- Check Enable software compression .
- Uncheck Require encripted password .
- At Allowed network protocols , only TCP/IP should
be checked.
- Go to TCP/IP Settings
- Check Server assigned IP Address .
- Check Specify Name Server Address.
- Primary DNS = 196.25.1.1
- Secondary DNS = 196.25.1.9
- Check Use IP Header Compression
- Check Use Default Gateway on Remote Network .
- Click OK until closed.
- Verify that the TCP/IP Protocol has been installed,
Start , Settings ,
Control Panel , Network. If the TCP/IP protocol is not present
then Add Protocol , Microsoft , TCP/IP.
